La Casa del Rum from Italy
La Casa del Rum N.2 65% abv
A blend of over proof rums, predominantly 8YO rum from Barbados (Foursquare, pot and column) with 3-5YO rum from Foursquare and 3-5YO rum from Angostura (column still). All rums are aged at the Country of origin. Amber-colored and clear, the nose will immediately feel the alcoholic strength heralding a captivating, exciting complexity. When you taste it you’ll find it’s full and dry. After the first sip it starts to show its balanced structure with good acidity. It is a Barbados rum, pungent and medicinal at the right point, ending with an iodine finish. White flowers, chamomile, caramel and chocolate, balsamic notes. It does not contain sugar.
La Casa del Rum N.3 50% abv
A blend of 2-3YO rum from Guatemala (DARSA, column still), 3-5YO rum from Nicaragua (column still) and unaged rum from Angostura (column still). All aged in the Country of origin. Its aroma is soft and complex. Despite being a young product, the nose immediately feels its complexity. Don’t let the first impact mislead you: its alcoholic impetuousness dictated by its young age slowly fades, leaving room for an intense aromatic evolution. A blend to taste quietly. In fact, only after a few minutes will you be able to grasp all its characteristics. Coffee, chocolate, licorice, all balanced by a non-invasive good wood. It enters the mouth softly and gently and comes full circle almost dry, inviting you to taste it again. It does not contain sugar.
La Casa del Rum N.4 40% abv
It is a blend of 4 different rums: 8YO rum from Barbados (Foursquare, pot and column), unaged rum from Angostura (column still), unaged rum from Jamaica, Hampden (pot still) and 3YO rum from Jamaica, Worthy Park (pot still). Jamaican pot stills give it most of its olfactory aromas, while the aged rum from Barbados aims to give it its structure. The white rum from Trinidad helps to mitigate and ease the complexity of the product. A rum with many nuances, whose balsamic part, with notes of anise and licorice, perfectly integrates with its vegetal notes. It is a rum thought for high mixology, but it’s also perfect for sipping on your own. It does not contain sugar.
La Casa del Rum
As is well known all over the world, we Italians like to drink and eat well, and this increasingly applies to rum too. It is not by chance that Italy is the country where the Selezionatori (Selectors) were born: spirit experts that select the best distillates and then attend to their bottling themselves. The first pioneering Selectors began with whisky, then over the last decades they have entered the rum world. Now, also thanks to their work, the custom of drinking a glass of good rum after a good dinner at the restaurant, or at the cafe, or even at home with friends is spreading rapidly. And it is spreading not only in Italy, of course, but all over Europe and the world.
We, La Casa del Rum (The House of Rum), want to move along this path, looking for, selecting and bottling quality rums for a niche market that wants to drink better: adult consumers willing to spend their money on premium rums, but with something really good inside the bottle.
Moreover, we have two specific focuses: blending and price.
Blending. We love the subtle art of rum blending. The exciting quest for different rums to work with. The tests and trials, even the errors. Till the ever magic moment when from the mixing of different rums a completely new, original product is born. Not a simple sum of its components, but something different and far superior.
Price. We think that a good rum does not necessarily have to be too expensive. We do not waste money on advertising, gadgets and so on. Therefore we can offer premium rums to our consumers at a price comparable to the mass market products which pretend to have a similar quality.
After some years of experience in Italy, this is the first time we have presented our rums abroad. You can judge for yourselves.
