Origens - German Rum Festival 2026

Señor Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez Perez

Señor Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez Perez has been involved in the rum world for over five decades. His career began in Cuba with Havana Club, where he ultimately served as Master Blender and a close confidant of Fidel Castro. In the early 1990s, he went to Panama, where he created Crafting Ron Abuelo together with Varela Hermanos. In the following years, due to his unique experience and sensory skills, he contributed to various brands. He worked partly in advisory roles and partly as Master Blender for Grander Rum, Ron de Jeremy, Panama Red, Cana Brava, Selvarey Rum, Zafra, and many more.
At the age of 75, he then created his masterpiece, the first rum allowed to bear his name: Origenes by Don Pancho. All the flavors one expects in a good rum are present in Origenes. Nothing is too much and nothing is too little.

"Origenes is a rum as, in my opinion, rum is supposed to be. I paid no attention to the opinions of others!" =Don Pancho=
